Access DeposZip by logging in to online banking, going to Check Services and then Remote Deposit.  Or, access from the Mobile Banking Account menu if you have an iPhone, Android or Windows mobile device (note:  you must first download the DeposZip Mobile app from the Apple App Store or Android Market prior to using this feature).

Desktop supported operating systems:

  • Windows 7 or Greater
  • Mac OSX 10.8 is supported using Load or Zero-Client features only

Windows Store (Windows Phones)

  • Operating system 8.0 and greater

All deposits will be posted the next business day by 10:00am EST.  Deposits made after 3:00pm EST will be considered deposited the next day and will post the second business day by 10:00am EST.

Funds will be available immediately upon being credited to your account.

The default limit is $1,000 per check/day and $4,000 per rolling 30 days.

The following items cannot be submitted for deposit using DeposZip:

  1. Checks written off the same account that the check is being deposited to are not permitted and will make your account ineligible for the DeposZip program.
  2. Savings Bonds
  3. Foreign Checks
  4. Checks previously endorsed by GenFed
  5. Any item that is “stale dated” or “post dated”
  6. Any item that is incomplete (i.e. missing the date, missing the payee, etc.)
  7. Any item that contains evidence of alteration to the information on the check
  8. Any item that is stamped with a “non-negotiable” watermark
  9. Checks that were previously deposited and returned NSF (second deposit)
  10. Checks that have already been deposited and cleared as paid

Please sign the back of each check and include the following endorsement information:

  • For deposit only at GenFed Financial CU
  • Account Number: ####*
  • Via DeposZip
  • On mm/dd/yyyy**

*#### = your account number
**mm/dd/yyyy = today’s date

Please note: if the back of the check is not properly endorsed, we reserve the right to reject the check for deposit.

After you endorse the back of the check(s) according to the instructions above, you will need to do the following:

  1. Log in to your Online Banking account.
  2. Click on Check Services – Remote Check Deposit
  3. Select the account you wish to deposit to, and then click Submit. Note: You may need to disable your internet browser’s pop up blocker if you have one enabled.
  4. Select your scanner (you will only need to do this one time).
  5. Enter the total deposit amount of your check(s).
  6. Scan the front and back of your check(s).
  7. Review and submit your deposit.

After you endorse the back of the check(s) according to the instructions above, you will need to do the following:

  1. Download the DeposZip Mobile app if you don’t have it yet (you will only need to do this one time).
  2. Log in to your Mobile Banking account.
  3. Click on Accounts – Remote Check Deposit.
  4. Select the account you wish to deposit to, and then click Submit.
  5. Enter the total deposit amount of your check(s).
  6. Follow the steps to take pictures of your check.
  7. Review and submit your deposit.

Once you have scanned your check(s) and your deposit has been credited to your account, you should securely store the original check(s) for 30 days before destroying it.

If you are within the DeposZip section of Online Banking, you can select “Help” or “?” as you begin the transaction and you will see information specific to the page you are on. You can also send an email to deposzip@genfed.com or call your local branch.
