GenFed's new remote deposit program, DeposZip, where you can make deposits from your home or office, is available now! All you need is a scanner! Log into HomeBanking, click on 'Direct Deposit' and then on 'Remote Deposit' to get started.

How do I access DeposZip?

Access DeposZip by logging in to your Home Banking account, going to Check Services and then Remote Deposit.


What are the hardware and software specifications for DeposZip?

In addition, DeposZip works with standard device drivers used for all types of TWAIN compliant scanners.

*Requires Java runtime environment v1.5+
 

How quickly will the deposit be credited to my account?

All deposits will be posted the next business day by 10:00am EST. Deposits after 3:00pm EST will be considered next day.

How quickly will the funds be available for me to use?

Funds will be available immediately upon being credited to your account.


Are there any types of checks that cannot be submitted using DeposZip?

The following items cannot be submitted for deposit using DeposZip:

1. Checks written off the same account that the check is being deposited to are not permitted and will make your account ineligible from the DeposZip program.
2. Savings Bonds
3. Foreign Checks
4. Checks previously endorsed by GenFed
5. Any item that is "stale dated" or "post dated"
6. Any item that is incomplete (i.e. missing the date, missing the payee, etc.)
7. Any item that contains evidence of alteration to the information on the check
8. Any item that is stamped with a "non-negotiable" watermark
9. Checks that were previously deposited and returned NSF (second deposit)
10. Checks that have already been deposited and cleared as paid

How should I endorse the check?

Please sign the back of each check and include the following endorsement information:

*#### = your account number
**mm/dd/yyyy = today's date

PLEASE NOTE: If the back of the check is not properly endorsed, we reserve the right to reject the check for deposit.

How do I send in my deposit?

After you endorse the back of the check(s) according to the indications above, you will need to do the following:

1. Log in to your Home Banking account
2. Click on Direct Deposit on the top navigation bar, and then the Remote Deposit button
3. Select the account you wish to deposit to, and then click Next.
Note – You may need to disable your internet browser’s pop up blocker if you have one enabled.
4. Select your scanner (you will only need to do this one time)
5. Enter the total deposit amount of your check(s)
6. Scan the front and back of your check(s)
7. Review and submit your deposit

How long should I hold on to my check(s) after I scan it using DeposZip?

Once you have scanned your check(s) and your deposit has been credited to your account, you should securely store the original check(s) for 30 days before destroying it.
