With GenFed’s Bill Payer Service you can pay any company or person you owe.
Pay anyone in the US that you would normally pay by check, automatic debit, or cash. We send the money electronically whenever we can. If the person or company can’t accept electronic payments, we print a check and mail it for you.
Review your payments and bills in Activity. You can download your payment into to a comma-separated values (CSV) file. You can import the file into a number of different personal financial software applications.
Send money electronically to people using Popmoney. They receive notification by email or text message.
Save a trip to the mailbox or another website to get your bills. Some of your bills can be delivered right in GenFed’s Bill Payer Service. You can view your eBills in Payment Center and pay them with a few simple clicks. You decide how much you want to pay and when you want to send the payment.
You can set up automatic payments to be sent according to a schedule you set. You can change or cancel AutoPay at any time.
AutoPay for eBills. You can set up some eBills to be paid automatically according to options you set. You can change or cancel AutoPay for eBills at any time.
How does GenFed's Bill Payer Service work?
Is my info secure?
Is my personal info kept private?
Yes. Your personal info is used to help us maintain your account and verify your identity. We verify this info with a consumer credit reporting agency for your security and protection. The verification process does not affect your credit report, credit rating, or credit worthiness.

What would prevent me from enrolling in Bill Payer?

How long before Bill Payer times out?
Bill Pay will provide you with a warning message at eight minutes; if you do not respond to the warning, your session will be ended two minutes later.
How can I change personal information, such as name, address, phone number or email address?
Personal information cannot be updated in Bill Payer and should always be updated within GenFed’s online banking.
How many email address(es) can Bill Payer support?
The system supports one email address per subscriber account.
The biller account number appear to be hidden, how can I make sure that they have the correct account?
Go to ‘Details’ link or ‘Modify’ link to view the full account number. These links can be located directly beneath the biller name in a drop-down window. It is recommended that you use the statement generated by the biller to compare this information.
Does Bill Payer send out a end of the year statement?
Bill Payer does not offer this feature. You can access your e-bills and view payment history for up to twenty four months through Bill Payer.
What options will I have to download payment history?
Payment history can currently be downloaded to an Excel (.CSV) formatted file.
Can I recieve eBills?
Yes, but only from billers who have contracted with Bill Payer to offer electronic billing. Currently, up to 500 e-billers offer this service. When you select this option during the set-up procedure, you will begin receiving eBills in Bill Pay within a few billing cycles, depending on the individual biller.
Who will have access to my account information?
Only the subscriber, and the joint subscriber, if any, will have access to the subscriber’s account. PSCU Contact Center Representatives, PSCU Member Services and GenFed representatives will be able to see some account information in order to assist you.
How does Bill Payer collect funds from an account if there are insufficient or no funds available?
Bill Payer will first make two attempts to collect the funds from the account. First on the due date and the second attempt will be within 2 to 3 business days of the first attempt. If this is unsuccessful, Bill Payer refers the case to its collections department. While attempts are being made to collect the funds, the subscriber’s account may be deactivated. If the payment was made via a corporate check or electronically, the biller has already been paid and the subscriber does not need to send them another payment. If the payment was made by a laser draft check, the payment will be returned to GenFed.
Can Bill Payer automatically pay eBills?
Yes, the eBill can be set-up to be paid automatically, unless you set a maximum amount. Amount due is either the amount of the bill, such as a telephone bill, or the minimum payment on a credit card.
What happens if a biller rejects a payment?
If the payment was made by a Laser Draft check, the payment will be returned to GenFed. If an electronic payment was made, the biller rejecting the payment is responsible for forwarding the payment to the correct biller or returning the funds to Bill Payer.
If a payment is now listed in the "Recent Payment" section, why has my account not been debited yet?
The funds are not withdrawn from your account until the payment due date. However, corporate checks are mailed three days before the due date and most electronic payments are sent out one day before the due date. Also, if the payment is made by Laser Draft check, the funds will not be withdrawn until the biller cashes the check, and then the check must clear GenFed.
The funds have been deducted from the account; why has the biller not been paid?
Verify to see when and how the payment was made. If it has been more than 10 business days from the process date, and the check has not cleared, request the check to be stopped and refunded, or reissued.
For electronic payments, if it has been two to four business days since the due date and the merchant has not yet posted the payment, contact customer service. Even though Bill Payer submits the funds the day before the due date, keep in mind that the biller will have their own processing time frames.
Can I change, or get a refund of a payment processed as an electronic payment?
If the payment status is “Recent Payments,” you cannot cancel the payment. Once an electronic payment is processed, the biller is in possession of the funds and you would need to contact the biller to request a refund.
Can I request a copy of a check?
If it is a Laser Draft check, you will need to contact GenFed for a copy of the check.
Proof of payment can also be obtained for electronic payments by GenFed opening a case with PSCU Customer Service.
Can I initiate an inquiry about a payment?
Yes, you can initiate an inquiry through GenFed, who will inquire with PSCU Customer Contact Center.
For Laser Draft checks, contact the biller to resolve the issue as with any other check drawn on your personal account.
