Community Involvement

GenFed is proud to be part of the communities we serve! We feel strongly about reinvesting in our communities and helping make them stronger. Each of our branches is involved in a variety of community activities.

Activities

Here are just a few of the ways we like to get involved:

Branch fundraisers. When you visit our branches, you’ll often see things like raffles and special events. That’s because our branches are very active in raising money for good causes, and we like to encourage our members to help us make a difference!

Team and event sponsorships. We’ve sponsored baseball teams in many of our regions, plus we sponsor events such like the cookie walk for the Cuyahoga Falls Cancer Club in 2015. We believe that it takes a team to build a stronger community!

Special events. We’ve held movie nights, pay it forward activities, shred days, a car show, and more. You’ll also find us participating in local events like the Wadsworth Holiday Parade and after-prom at Vermilion High School. Each event we hold, participate in, or sponsor benefits members of our community.

Education-related activities. In addition to talking with students about money, we work with the United Way in Mt. Vernon to hold an annual “stuff the bus” event to raise funds for school supplies. We also sponsor a teacher of the quarter program to award a teacher $300 each quarter for service projects.
