With Direct Deposit and Payroll Deduction, you can have some or all of your paycheck sent automatically to your GenFed accounts.
You’ll need to talk with your employer to set up Payroll Deduction or Direct Deposit. Here’s some information you will need to provide them. Once established you can set up re-occurring payments or deposits to any one or more of your sub-accounts through online banking.
Social Security and SSI check recipients can call the Go Direct helpline at 800.333.1795, or sign up online at www.godirect.org.
Automatic payments are often used for utilities or other re-occurring payments, are taken directly out of your GenFed account, and are usually set up through the utility company. You will need GenFed’s Routing and Transit number (2412-7326-9) and your account number when you set up a re-occurring automatic payment.

You can schedule automatic payments on your due date for the full payment amount or manuall make full or partial payments as desired. Payments are usually posted the next business day but can take longer depending on when the request is made. Plus, make a payment with a debit card from another financial institution.
GenFed has also partnered with PayNearMe to accept cash deposits and loan payments at a number of community merchants for same day processing to your GenFed account or loan.
Person to Person Payments
When you have a GenFed checking account you can send money to a recipient’s email or cell phone (text message) through PopMoney! After logging into mobile or online banking , manuver to 'pay bills' in the menu. Recipients will receive a message alerting them to the transaction. They will be asked to initiate and accept the transaction and provide account information for the deposit.
PopMoney is great for sending money that doesn’t have to be there the same day (birthdays, kids away at college, etc). At $1 per transaction, it’s much cheaper than a traditional wire transfer.
